07/11/03 - Somalia or the War of All the Lies.

Whereas that peace in Somalia is compromised, the independence of Somaliland and the results of its efforts as regards progress disturb many interests external at this country; these external interests which they are not unveiled openly at the present time.

The young state of Somaliland - after more than ten years of independence and wills locally expressed to place the country at its own rhythm on the road of progress and peace - is the incessant emanating object of outside and specific aggressions to try for to destabilize his peace policy.

It is true that all these external acts - such as recent assassinations of ONG members which work in the interest of Somaliland populations - mask shameful intentions awkwardly and would be accompanied by certain local complicities and collusions that are known by all because they could be located in a very short minority of men in the national assembly but also at very high level of the State.

Political personalities would profit from the granting of gifts such large lands and villas offered liberally by the despotic president of neighbouring country .

This president has hegemonics designs on certain areas of Somaliland that are to realize all the expression for one old dream of his "Empire local and clanic" which would not have anything as to envy in its artificial of luxurious and in its devotion to this future "banana Emperor" that it like we had seen with Bokassa 1er with the former Central African Empire .

If Somaliland is object of so many covetousnesses, the reason is than it would conceal in its under ground of the priceless "treasures" such as partially exploited petroleum and which one does not know yet the local limits but especially of the natural gas resources which would be ones of the most significant at the world.

About these natural gas resources, little speak about it while trying to focus our attention to supposed presence of Al Itihad networks in Somaliland which one tries to make to pass for the refuge of all the religious extremisms of Islam in the area.

To read the declarations with the press anyone could to believe that all the heirs to Ben Laden of planet would meet in Somaliland, what constitutes an odious untrue handling which has a very precise objective consisting to create the misinformation and to maintain it to encourage so that the armies of the coalition of fight against terrorism are fixed in the country whereas all the attempts at infiltrations in Ethiopia are done on order of Mogadiscio and always in the south of Somalia but never they are made by the Somaliland .

Is played thus - under our eyes and in hand - a fight baited by people interposed and financed to try to master this area but especially its resources of under ground and in particular those of natural gas which were revealed its presence since more than 20 years by the Soviet experts.

The existence of these resources was confirmed there is that more than two years on the spot by "prospectors" of a large American firm of world fame; officially, they had said that are researching new water resources..!!!.

The future of Somaliland arrived at a determining stage of its history which obliges it today with a choice is likely to swing to :

• in a notable increase in its economic progress, social and political with the recognition of its existence by the international institutions of UNO,
  

• to pour in the disorders founded by the multiplicity of the small conflicts generated and maintained such as those which perdurent more in the south in the Italian ex somalies.
  

Somaliland - a contemporary reality.

Located at the crossroads of Africa and the Arab world, Somaliland populations present specific characters which make of them a country with share as a whole Somali like African.

The community of religion, associated cultural and commercial bonds secular - maintained in particular by the unit the Issak community - allows the inhabitants of this young independent state to claim itself of a membership in the Arab world ; but, in same time, the geography, the English and recent colonial history, certain economic constraints attach it to the Black Africa as with Ethiopian sense of identity.

This triple filiation produced a tolerant multilingual original culture that has regard to its territorial neighbors being expressed through a given nationalism which is at the origin of a conflict with Mogadiscio whereas in parallel has instituted good relations with its neighbor Ethiopia populations.

Within populations of Somaliland and Ethiopia exists ancestral bonds would be only via the common roots between the tribes located on both sides of the border.

The greatest initial success of Somaliland

The greatest initial success of Somaliland was probably that of to realize the gathering under its only one alive flag of the quasi totality of the populations somali in the country.

Let us remember that the breathlessness of the authoritative system of president Siyad Barre resulted in a rise of the opposition to its tyrannical system, after the bombardment Hargeisa by the army in June 1988.

December 30, 1990, the Mogadiscio capital city was revolted against the dictator, then, from November 1991 to March 1992, violent confrontations arose between the factions of Somalia liberators what had like consequence the rebirth of Somaliland.

This rebirth of Somaliland - after one catastrophic experiment to want to create large Somalia while passing by the disputed authority because Mogadiscio system was questionable - should in all logic have encouraged to see with a better reading the Somaliland State was and will be one of the solutions of resolution of the Somalia problem.

Somaliland has considerable problems common to all the developing countries especially in the East Horn Africa, the such search for a viable economy, are worsened here by a hostile natural environment but especially by all the external interferences which use local relays to try to undermine the existence of this young State.

The hour of the choice determining the future of the Somaliland country.

It is thus a choice which the populations of Somaliland have to make today.

This choice would have - with our sense - in very first phase be based on the recognition of the existence of the State young person of Somaliland, therefore of the reality of its independence.

It is the indispensable condition " SINE QUA NON " before any later negotiation because the introduction of a lasting peace in Somalia passes undoubtedly - according to our opinion - by this way.

That those which want the disappearance of Somaliland in these current borders with a uniting some of its areas to another country - which is border - leave the country because the populations of Somaliland need their country with unity and for progress.

However without Peace, economic, social and political progress would be only one dream.......

" The situatuion is too serious. The hour is not to dreams, nor to lies !!!".
