Press release

With a deep emotion and one great consternation that the members of Government in Exile of Djibouti learned Mr. Jean Helene assassination , RFI journalist in Abidjan.

By this odious and unjustifiable act, the " international journalism " and the populations of Africa thus come to lose one of its journalists rare and large who have a right vision of Africa but also of Djibouti ; of its various populations, their complementary sensitivities and their difficulties of existence.

In refusing the counterfeits of informations which are disseminated in some luxe hotels and accepted by "others.." in ease and the comfort of the artifices that one certain "bad gouvernance policy offers to them", it seems necessary to us to point out the fundamental role of our African brother Jean Helene which with great objectivity clearly understood what is the first vocation of a journalist.

He has put accent in particular the major reasons which brought to the creation of the FRUD in 1991 and he did not hesitate - in spite of the dissension which the Djibouti government opposed then to him - to go directly on the spot to Randa for to inform himself and to look at the realities.

In this situation of one great sadness for its friends or which knew him, appreciated and expressing himself in the name of the populations of Djibouti and of the political opposition:

the Government in Exile of Djibouti presents :

- at its family,

- to Mr. Jean Paul Cluzel, Chairman and managing Director,

- to Mr. Roger Bouvier, his collaborators

- and to all the RFI journalists

their most saddened and sincere condolences.

Djibouti populations and political opposition,
for the Government in Exile of Djibouti.

Mr. Mahamoud Idriss Ahmed.
president of GED

Mr. Abdallah Deberkaleh.
vice president of GED
